Is there anyplace on line that would show Amtrak's on time performance at intermediate stops?  I found the on time performance page on thier website, but it only tracks end point on time stats.

At the moment I want to look into #14's on time stats for Sacramento.

Thanks, that works nifty!

JPS:

I just used the site and was able to set it  for 01-01-17 to 03-30-17 using the calendar boxex next to the date windows. Selecting "Scheduled AR" and "Ascending" it prints out a table with January 1 (AR 16 min early/Dep 21 min late) at the top and March 28 (Ar 1 hr 27 min late/ dep 1 hr 48 min late) at the bottom.

On the other hand, I tried to quote your post and THIS site wouldn't let me. Go figure!

This is a good tool.  However, I could only get it to give me the average and median numbers for one month, although I tried to put January 2015 in the start date.  The tool reset the start date to February 28th or thereabouts.

The tool showed an average delay for Number 14 at Sacramento of 58 minutes, which is pretty close to the average numbers for all of the the intermediate stations for the Coast Starlight shown in the Amtrak's monthly operating report for FY16.

I book all of my Amtrak trips on-line.  And I complete the portion of the reservation dialog box that tells Amtrak to send me a text message two hours before departure if the train is delayed. Works like a charm!

"On Time" for Amtrak on the Hiawatha Corridor means within 10 min of scheduled arrival time.    So I would be careful with that metric and not interpret it to mean right on the money as far as timetable schedule.

In my view...classic example of garbage in / garbage out.

"The Amtrak Monthly Performance Report for September, which is the end of Amtrak's fiscal year, has average performance data for intermediate stations, although it does not provide information for specific stations."

Most people probably understand that an average for all the intermediate stations for any train has a lot of wiggle room in it.

Given the law of large numbers, over a long period of time - Amtrak has been reporting intermediate average numbers since 2012, the probability that the numbers are reasonably close is pretty high. However, on any given day, the variances can be significant.

........ "Check Train Status"... It does not go back many days, but you get the information for any train at any station there. /quote]

Amtrak's Check Train Status, at least for Number 14, includes today and five previous days.

The Amtrak Monthly Performance Report for September, which is the end of Amtrak's fiscal year, has average performance data for intermediate stations, although it does not provide information for specific stations. Amtrak's monthly performance reports are available at Amtrak.com.

In FY16 the Coast Starlight was on time at its intermediate stations an average of 60.4 percent, which was up from 57.9 percent in FY15.

Mark, Lisa, go the the Amtaak site and call "Check Train Status" up. It does not go back many days, but you get the information for any train at any station there.
