Luzern CH still closed from Cisalpino derailment March 22

Bahnhof Luzern remains closed since Wednesday March 22 except for meter-gauge Zentralbahn local trains.  The Eurocity train "Cisalpino" derailed at one end of the station on Wednesday, March 22, injuring 7. Both track and overhead were damaged, resulting in a complete closure of standard gauge operations. The SBB has implemented bus bridges for commuters.  International passengers are being handled via alternate routes.

The derailment occurred at one of the most heavily travelled points in the Swiss rail network.  Some damage was done to the Eurocity set, and some of the overhead wire support poles were damaged or destroyed.
