Amtrak January 2017 performance report

Few miscellaneous items.

Acela's had 7 + times as many minutes of delays that the ACS-64s had.  But the Acelas had 5-6 times as many delays for passengers.  Could be NERs have more station dwell built in ?  This reliability difference mirrors the problems with HHP-8s that have been sidelined since they have many common parts with the Acela motors.  Another thought with two motors on Acela this difference is even more prominent.  Just another reason to eventually retire the Acela-1s ?

All Bear car work is ahead of plan for the year with exception of Amfleet wreck repair which is waiting for parts.  Loco repair on schedule with loco 67 having to have a broken truck replaced in NOL.

Beech total Superliner work ahead but 2 cars behind waiting for parts.  Amtrak evidently having problems with PTC installations but seems to have solved the problems.

Moorman must have pushed for these maintenance improvements ?

Ridership and revenue up systemwide with both Acela and NER above budget and last year with NER up 10%
