The car is currently in use as a passenger car in regular locomotive-hauled trains. Whether or not that is due to difficulties with the car or due to operational changes since it was purchased is not something that I know.

Alaska Railroad Colorado Railcar Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU)

Do any members know if the ARR is still using the one double-decker DMU it obtained from Colorado Railcar? What was the ARR's operating experience with the car? Is it stored, used seasonally, for sale?

I'm not looking for a general debate about the merits of one DMU vs another, nor of DMUs vs RDCs--but rather real world information on this car and the ARR's experience(s) with it.

THANKS!
