This appeared as a story in recent days on the local news here in R.I. The emphasis of the stories was that the upgraded track would not bypass downtown Providence as had been proposed in some of the earlier versions of the plan. The fact thst there was no real funding plan nor a construction timetable was barely mentioned. It was implied that the projects was a done deal, which it is most certainly not..

The final EIS has been issued with a DEC 16, 2016 date.  Lots of good night time reading.  Noted in the map link several curves to be eliminated both in Maryland, Elizabeth curve and 188 crash.  Many links that will  take time to digest.  Also some realignments in CT & RI.
