AS of Saturday with the usual early morning purge :::
BOS <> NYP seems as though Amtrak has really beefed up schedules. Wedensday there are 47 trips between both cities. Sunday ~ 43. Cetrainly more than usual. Many sold out trips Sunday.
NYP <> WASH same trips as last year and not too many sold outs.
WAS <> clt / sav Mostly sold out with just a few seats available Wedensday and Sunday. Carolinian with its inability to add more cars especially sold out.
I don't know about other parts of the country, but here in the Richmond VA area the day before Thanksgiving's a great day for railfanning along the old RF&P line. Lots of Amtrak action, at least it's been so in the past.
Even the CSX freights really seem to hustle that Wednesday.
With a check just after the reservations purge appears going to be a banner week for Amtrak.
Sunday after Thanksgiving NYP <> BOS sold out completely from NYP and just a few early trains available from BOS. NYP <> WASH many sold out including some commuter equipment trains. Some acela first class prices as high as $400 +
Wedensday still somewhat few seats on some trains. The night owls both ways from tonight on very few if any seats available. Business class on them almost all gone. Have to wonder when V-2 sleepers finally arrive how sleepers would fare ?
As usual LD trains out of WASH sold out including Cardinal We & SU. Exception is still a few seats and rooms on the Meteor.
Unconfirmed reports Meteor #98 4 sleepers, 6 coaches, diner, lounge baggage total = 13 cars Unconfirmed as well Lakeshore had 14 cars of unknown types and how much BOS ?
