My daughter rode the sleeper from London to Glasgow last summer. Said the trip was amazing. We were going on to Newtonmore, a town of about 3,000, and if she knew at the time that the Inverness section would stop there she would have ridden all the way through.

More train watching in Scotland last Saturday morning.

The reason I walked down to the platform was to see the Caledonian Sleep arrive from London on Saturday morning. Two coaches, one lounge car, and seven sleepers. Two trains leave from London and serve five different cities in Scotland. One of the terminals for sleeper service is Fort William, population 10,000. Amazing service!

Sorry about the poor photo of the the GB Railfreight class 90 locomotive.
