The northbound Starlight hit something that looked like a tree somewhere between Albany and Salem OR today. There was quite a dent in the front cowling that obliterated the ditch light, marker light and right headlight on P42DC 11's right side.

Tangentially, Amtrak Cascades now has a Seahawks painted NPCU.

Amtrak appears to have guessed correctly.  except for a couple Cascades every train in the PNW is 2 hours or more late with Vancouver, BC trains cancelled.    That includes originating 11, 8, 28.

High wind and heavy rain warnings for the Pacific coast.  Amtrak issuing passenger advisory.  Here is advisory.  This may be the first of the season for mudslides north of Seattle ?  Wind speeds of gusts to 75+ MPH
