Amtrak's "California Zephyr" goes through Donner Pass rather than the Feather River Canyon but it does follow the former Rio Grande route along the Colorado River.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

very nice and thanks for link. I rode the orig. CZ from Oakland to Omaha and transferred to MP for ride back home.  I will always remember going along the river through a canyon in CO with 4 dome cars following ours.  Great train ride. Have not been on Amtrak CZ which uses a different route.

Another one but this time from Chicago to California.    This is interesting because the view of the rainbow trout in the Diner.     That menu item was renamed Rocky Mountain Rainbow Trout and served in the Diner of the Rio Grande Zephyr.

This short film is on the WP Railroad but mostly the shots are the WP California Zephyr in color.
