The ACS-64s are stronger, and thus the doubleheading is no longer required. It wasn't with the HHP-8s, either.

Sprinters accelerate faster than the AEM7's, I have no idea as to pulling power though.

I have seen many pictures showing Amtrak trains with two AEM7's pulling them. Example was the farewell to the AEM7's train. Does Amtrak still need to doublehead trains with Sprinters?
