There are about 5 of them sitting in Alamosa, CO right in view from the Rio Grande Scenic platform.  I don't know what or if Ed Ellis and his folks have plans for them.

Saw that in a photo on Ed's Facebook page.

You must be thinking of Superliner cars.

Many are in the daily consist for the Pacific Surfliners running between San Diego, Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo. They usually are right behind the cab control car.

I seem to remember somebody posting a picture of about 6-10 of these cars in a siding in the Dallas area about a year or so ago.

The majority of them are in St Louis.

Five of the Hi-Level Lounges (Top of the Cap) are now Pacific Parlour Cars in service as first-class lounges on the Coast Starlight.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

So I don't think they are all in one place as implied.

Given the 3 on the Hobo we know they're not all in one place.

You know someone said that the Capitol Corridor group bought them all up but via my overly addictive watching of youtube videos I see some are stored in TN with the Music City Star Equipment.    At least one is a Private Car now in the AAPRCO pool of cars available for charter (but back in Santa Fe lettering).    So I don't think they are all in one place as implied.

Whereabouts of the ex El Cap bi levels.

Does anyone have a list of the location of the ex El Cap cars? I ask this as 3 things have struck me about these lately.

On another list someone claimed that several would be leased to the state of Il to be used in St. Louis service given the extended delay in delivery (even a sample car) of the state consortium corridor cars.

Second someone suggested that they might be used by one of the bidders for the Oklahoma City service.

But most surprising I ran into 3 of them in of all places, Lincoln NH on the Hobo Railroad. There are sharing yard space with the Flying Yankee as well as a Roger Williams cab car. There was no knowledgeable person there at the time to tell me what the intended use was. (They also have an ex MP PS dome in their dinner train, the Granite Eagle)
