Robert,

Relax.  Plenty of parking at Cleveland.  I've never seen the lot more than a third full.  It's more difficult to find the two entrances than anything else.  The parking problem at Cleveland is the security of your vehicle, not the space availabile.

Over the past 40 years I've learned about the parking lot there.  I know of at least one case (1980's) of a vehicle being stolen, I have seen the results of a car that had its window busted out, the dashboard ravaged, and the radio/player stolen.  That being said, I have parked there a number of times, but never for more than three nights and always in an older (10+) year old car.  I bet you could park there for longer and with a newer car, but I certainly wouldn't guarantee anything.

I have also parked in nearby hotel garages and had a taxi take me to the station.  Garage parking at hotels is expensive but it's safe.  The city of Cleveland has a parking deck a few hundred feet from the station on East 9th Street & Memorial Shoreway.  You could look into that as a more reasonably priced alternative.  There is no public transportation to the station in the middle of the night when you'll be there.

The entire station area and the neighborhood around it are, in my opinion, very safe to walk around in, even in the dead of the night, because no one lives there; just office buildings, banks, etc.   The station itself isn't manned during the daytime and even at night the parking lot seems to be unsecured (no cameras, patroling cop, etc.).

In sum:  it's a gamble.  Consider your options and choose accordingly.  My car has never been touched while in that lot; maybe you'll be just as lucky, as most people are.

And have a safe, happy journey.

Amtrak's web site advises 75 long term parking spaces.  Never used it myself, but that squares with what I remember. Use Amtrak's web site to get info.  The Westin hotel has a parking link on the station page.

Just a quick question concerning the Amtrak station in Cleveland oh. How much parking is available at the station for long term parking? Taking # 449 east to Boston and wonder if I can depend on parking being readily available. In the past I have been dropped off. I know their other alternatives if the lot I'd often full.
