The Lehigh Valley cities would have had another option, if NJT had kept the line west of High Bridge.  Also, at the rate NJT is re-tracking the Lackawanna Cut-off, it will be a while before Scranton sees passenger rail service.

Passenger service to cities west of the Delaware River is beyond the service area and responsibility of New Jersey Transit.  The services to Port Jervis and Spring Valley are operated in New York by New Jersey Transit under contract from Metro North.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul

Unfortunately for us in pa the state can not even pass the state budget, currently a 174 days late. Not much of a mood for any kinda of compromise in Harrisburg when it comes to spending.

Increase rail service west of Harrisburg will have to wait.

Hopefully someday NJT would see benefits in coordinating expanded service with PA.
