Some switching in Argentina
Posted by Mario_v on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 11:16 AM

Hello all ;

Here are some videos of a switch yard in Argentina. Almost all rolling stock is classic (on the locomotive side, one can see an Alco, a Alsthom AD30C and an English Electric  road switcher - the one moving rolling stock - both ex Portuguese railways, and some Budd 'lookalikes' also former portuguese railways but built under llicense by Sorefame). The exception are the brand new passenger cars built in China. And looking at themm one cannot stop thing about the fact that Amtrak and VIA really in need of some new single level cars osn't it ? If a RR such as the argentinian, wich is a 'mooving wreck' can get new cars, why can't their northernmost neigbours get some 'new stuff' too ?

On the same location - cordoba 'Terminal station', one can see some trains ready to depart and the arrival of another getting into to the station reeeallly slow. Notice the brand new engines made in China and the totaly delerict physical plant. But the trains are new.
