Ah, yes. Wouldn't that be something marvelous. Total cooperation between train operators, ROW owners, etc., etc. Well, we can dream! Or at least, enjoy it when we see it elsewhere!

Which "that" are you referring to?  Getting the Head of State to ride a train?  Or re-opening a line closed since 1969?

 

Both admittedly difficult here, but the line re-opening doesn't appear to have been easy there either!

 

Neither.   Sorry I was not clear.  I referred to running a steam-powered (in part) and authentic passenger train consist on almost any line in the UK.
