Eastbound California Zephyr

been changed--and the latest schedule AMtrak site is dated in this January. It now leaves Emeryville forty minutes later and arrives in Chicago three hours later than the January schedule shows. I find no change on the westbound schedule. Most of the slowing is east of Salt Lake CIty.

I wonder: is this because of trackwork?

Also, I wonder why Amtrak has not posted on the site the current schedule.

I wonder why the online schedule is not the current one -- that seems strange to say the least.  Where does one obtain a current schedule?   I happen to have a paper copy of the fall/winter '08/'09 schedule.  The currently posted online schedule is roughly 1 hour shorter in each direction than '08/'09.

The schedule change is in effect for two ten day periods eastbound only - April 15-24, and April 30-May 9.  It's posted on www.amtrak.com/service-alerts-and-notices .

Thanks, Rob. Perhaps I will remember this when I run across another seeming anomaly. I have looked at that part of the site before--and did not think of it this time.
