PVTA or Pioneer Valley Transit http://www.pvta.com/ runs bus service from in front of the Amherst Post Office every 1/2 hour to Northhampton MA to the new/old Amtrak Station. Peter Pan runs bus service from the Green 3 times a day to NOHO and Springfield. PVTA also serves Greenfield,Holyoke and Springfield Westfield and Palmer MA and connects to CT Transit which connects to all the towns down the CT River to New Haven. The problem is that when UMASS is not in session bus service is greatly reduced to daytime only due to lack of student drivers who work under contract to UMASS and PVTA.
