Authors Booking Passage on Amtrak
Posted by Victrola1 on Friday, November 14, 2014 11:46 AM

WASHINGTON – Amtrak is partnering with Random House to connect up to four of the publishing company’s best-selling authors with their readers at book signing events in communities served by the passenger railroad.............

The above is from this web site's News Wire.

The literati will be traveling Amtrak's long distance routes as a marketing tool. Will it work?

I don't imagine I'll run into any great authors on Amtrak's trains, but if Amtrak wants a marketing tool they have only to run their trains on time...everywhere.

Unfortunately Amtrak has little control over running its trains on time other than in the NEC and a few corridors. Why heck the railroads can't run thier own trains on time.
