"Make a go of ---" generally means to attempt to succeed at some new endeavor, such as a job or marriage or a new venture.

Frailey's $100 bet on Miami-Orlando
Posted by timz on Monday, November 10, 2014 12:26 PM

In December Trains Fred Frailey offers to bet $100 that the backers can "make a go of" their proposed unsubsidized passenger railroad between downtown Miami and Orlando Airport.

Has he ever explained what "make a go of" means? What would have to happen for him to win his bet?
