Although this poster has often faulted CSX over its on time performance it appears that NS is at the bottom of June 2014 figures. (Amtrak performance report June 2014 page E-4) NS was 35 % higher than any of the other major RRs. NS is doing well in the south as Star, Carolinian, Lynchburg, Pennsylvanian is in the middle or better of the other Majors. Where it is melting down is on the northern tier. Blue water, Pierre, and Wolverine's 39 miles are taking 7200 -8800 minutes delays per 10,000 train miles. Capitol and Lake shore taking ~3500 minutes. This is higher than delays on EB and CalZ. Freight train interference is primary cause with signals a second cause. Believe it or not CP is best on HIA and Vermont RR - Ethan Allen a close second. We have not heard much that NS is doing to improve this corridor other than a short triple rack installation. What will happen when the first bad winter blast comes ?
