It is amazing as I flew into Milwaukee last week the MD-80 aircraft circled the city.     I could see the Talgo trainset still sittting outside at Tower Automotive.     How the CP has scaled back former Milwaukee road operations in the city and the Menominee River Valley Freight Yard.     I could see how Milwaukee largely wasted the new space made available via the sale of Milwaukee Road land with light industry that does not need rail access and a Indian Casino (yeah great move Milwaukee).

Best of all though I could see the former C&NW Passenger main right of way still largely intact from the bridge Southwest of Summerfest grounds all the way through NW Milwaukee.     With the exception of one or two small sheds on the ROW, it looked like the entire ROW was still intact and used as a bike path.    Amazing how after all these years (since 1965) of not being used the ROW largely remains an open space.
