Two bits of news in the last couple of days. 1. The govener announced that a train from and to Rockford on the UP Belvidere sub would begin operation next year, eventually being extended to Dubuque. This represents a significant change from the all CN route that was the earlier choice, but makes a lot more sense based on intermediate population. 3. The House passed a resolution supporting the establishment of passenger service between the Quad Cities and Danville, shades of the P&E!
