China claims HSR changing country
Posted by blue streak 1 on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 11:06 AM

A NY times article says China claims HSR changing way people doing business & pleasure in China.  An example is the Changsha station.   4 years ago when first opened very few passengers;  now overcrowded and station's 16 platforms are being doubled to 32 platforms.  No indication if platforms each server 1 or 2 tracks or is a combination ? . One note is that train fares are less than air fares so most airlines are now concentrating on longer than 300 mile routes where they can have an advantage.
