The only variants are the cab set ups.

1.  A few are set to run with AEM-7s mostly at night when some CAT is turned off

2.  Some have ACSES cab signaling for the NEC

3..  Some have ITCS for Detroit - CHI - STL,

4.  Some have CSX & NS cab signaling

5.  Some have UP's ATC cab signals

6.  Some have ATS for some Santa Fe and Metrolink services.

7.  To complicate items further many of the locos have more than one type of cab signaling installed.

Hello Railfans i was reading an article and the auther said P42 DC and i didint quite understand, so does this mean theirs other variantes of P42s. can someone please explain this to me. that would be just great. Huh?
