A McIntosh
Maybe it would not be a bad thing to privatize passenger rail service, if for no other reason than to get it from under Congress and dimwit politicians meddeling with it.

A McIntosh,

I just don't see any private company being willing to take over passenger rail service except in very special situations.

Best regards, John

Maybe John intends to be the private investor to run all the profitable passenger operations!

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

Don,

The Orlando Sentinel reports John Mica with "retain his seat on the Transportation committee."

A politician putting his money where his mouth is?  I'd pay to see that!  They could sell tickets!

Over the Years I've heard of many willing to put their Campaign Contibutor's Money in their mouth (Usually by way of the back pocket)..

He is no longer the chair, or even on, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, but that doesn't seem to have slowed down his Amtrak harassment!

Don,

Even before the election it was clear John MIca is from a safe district so his re-election was expected.

With best regards,

John

If it means that freight railroad would consider and actually engage passenger services on their tracks, then, maybe this would be good.  But if it is just rechewing the idea that freight railroads can have their meat and eat it too,  or legislation to fatten those of the highway lobby by hoping to eliminate passenger trains by disbanding Amtrak, then, no.

That blasted banner is blocking my "reply" button at the bottom of my screen...or is that what Trains wants?
