My surprise on this was that I thought they had money fo make the whole Corridor 110 mph.   Instead of a small segment.     The quad four gates I believe are just on a small segment.     I am riding the length of the corridor on December 22nd via a Dallas to Chicago trip so I will see then how much more work they have done.

110 will be it for that line.
There is talk of an all new line built to TGV style standards that would be 200+ plus no funding yet for that.

Interesting story and as a native Chicagoan, I applaud the whole concept.

I wonder how fast the eventual service will be.

125 MPH?

150 MPH?

200 MPH?

Regardless of opinion on fast passenger service, it is a step forward (or back to past glory).
