The Transportation Bill 2012 was signed into Law on Sat July 7, 2012 for the next 2 years. What does this mean to Amtrak Funding Good or Bad? I hope this bill gives amtrak little more Money for the next 2 year buying more new cars and other stuff amtrak needs?
Here is a brief synopsis I found (it was hard to find anything at all):
The House did provide significant funding for Amtrak - $1.80B, a program they have tried to zero out in the past, including adding an additional $500M for Amtrak bridges and tunnels.
So around $1.3B for operating expenses and for buying new equipment, roughly the same as now.
It look like last year money 1.8 Billion Dollars. Great that Amtrak is getting the same amount of money.
