MTA ( Conn division ) continues Constant tension CAT install
Posted by blue streak 1 on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 9:07 PM

MTA will resume work around Apr 1 between Southport and Bridgeport.  Tracks 1 &2 (inside tracks ) will have rebuild 4 bridges ( open deck to ballasted close deck ) and install constant tension CAT ( including new wire ).

Last year's work was suspended about nov 2011 to prepare for any winter emergency plan that might be needed  to be sactivated.  Believe not needed due to mild winter ??.

MTA anticipates some delays just using tracks 3 &4 unless an incident happens between work end points. 2011 had 1 or 2 incidents between last year's work endpoints that severely impacted service.
