Blame who for what? Not getting the story, the whole story, the true story...blame the lame media for not knowing enough about anything that it can't ask the right questions and get the right answers; it is unable to see a story that isn't written out for them.
RIDEWITHMEHENRY is the name for our almost monthly day of riding trains and transit in either the NYCity or Philadelphia areas including all commuter lines, Amtrak, subways, light rail and trolleys, bus and ferries when warranted. No fees, just let us know you want to join the ride and pay your fares. Ask to be on our email list or find us on FB as RIDEWITHMEHENRY (all caps) to get descriptions of each outing.
Henry6: MY heart burn comes the previous announcements that 2012 would be the closing and start of construction from POU - ALB. And what ever happened to the Albany - Schenectady double track work that was supposed to start in 2011.
I think that many of us were led to believe Amtrak ownwd ALB - Schen single track line. So what is the actual story including the bridge north of ALB station?
I tend to blame local POLs.
The headline is a great example of how a story can be manipulated or slanted. What is most important to the story? That the improvements won't come until 2013 or that CSX and Amtrak have reached a lease agreement for track from Poughkeepsie to Schenectady (there really are other towns and cities in NY harder to pronounce and spell)?. And that agreement, once cleared by NYS, will strengthen Amtraks operation of the Empire Corridor?
The Amtrak work that was originally announced to begin this year will not start until next year. So nothing to improve POU - ALB - SCY?
