Amtrak has cancelled trains in and out of New Orleans the last couple of days and going forward. That is entirely understandable. However nothing on the web site lists these cancellations. In addition going to reservations site trips are shown sold out. This IMHO is not being straight forward.
Also the Crescent was cancelled NYP -NOL and not terminated / originated at ATL. Have not figured out about City of New Orleans being stubbed??.

Amtrak services on three routes traveling to the Southern U.S. are affected by current and predicted flooding in association with Tropical Storm Lee and the resulting closure of routes used by Amtrak and owned by CN, Norfolk Southern and the New Orleans Public Belt railroads. Passengers with travel plans on these routes are urged to call 800-USA-RAIL for additional information.
The following service disruptions have been made for the origination dates of Sept. 3 through Sept. 5:
City of New Orleans (Trains 58 & 59), Chicago – New Orleans
Amtrak will operate service only between Chicago and Memphis for Train 59 on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4 and Train 58 on Sept. 4 and Sept. 5. Train service is temporarily suspended south of Memphis. Alternate transportation will be provided only for station stops Jackson, Miss. and Memphis.
Crescent (Trains 19 & 20), New York – New Orleans
Amtrak will operate service only between New York and Atlanta for Train 19 on Sept. 3 and Train 20 originating on Sept. 4. No alternate transportation is available between Atlanta and New Orleans.
Sunset Limited (Trains 1 & 2), Los Angeles – New Orleans
Amtrak will operate service only between Los Angeles and San Antonio for Train 2 that originated on Sept. 2 and Train 1 from San Antonio on Sept. 4. No alternate transportation is available between San Antonio and New Orleans.
Passengers who have paid for travel on canceled trains can contact Amtrak to receive refunds without fee or penalty or can re-book for future travel. If tickets have not yet been printed, the refund/rebook can be done on Amtrak.com or the free Amtrak iPhone “app.”

Sam: Thanks I finally got the update however it is a little late. As an aside my bulletin was dated Sept 3 7:03 PM CDT. Maybe using more than one server? Still the notice is late since cancellations were effective yesterday morning.

[As of 5:00 PM ] The eastbound Lakeshore was terminated at Cleveland this morning. website does have the cancellations of Lanchester - Harrisburg, Pa. Anyone know if their website access does mention Empire service cancellation.

Someone said on another that Lake Shore Limited is sitting in Pittsburgh, Pa Amtrak Station.
There is another item that Amtrak has not reported and maybe trains staff neds to investigate.
Under their web site reports and Documents there has not been a Monthly Performance Report since the May 2011 report. Amtrak states that reports are usually out about 6 weeks after the end of the month. So what has happened to June, and July?? And August will be due in another week?
Could this be because Amtrak wants to delay disclosing something? This type of non action is not in their interest in the long run? .
Finally the june report is out but not complete. Was stated that conversion of financial info could not be put in report. They may have had programing problems??
A quick look. June load factor 57.8% best ever. Locos OOS 16%., Pass equippment 12%. The cancellations of EB, CZ, Lincoln, Vermonter cost estimated 62,000 trips and $7.0M of revenue.
Total passengers 2,672,000 if 62,000 had been added June would have been best month ever over JUL & Aug 2010.
Lynchburg up 36% to 15,851+ This is third highest ridership short haul behind Carolinian & Pennsylvanian and second highest revenue only behind Carolinian for a single train operation.
Richmond NPN up 26%. to 53,686
Slowly catching up on overhauled and rebuilt rolling stock.
OTP Capitols, HIAwatha over 90%.. Wolverine 0%, Maple Leaf 33% ( possible customs delays?? )
OTP Auto Train 86% The Capitol 20%
