Virgin looking at buying Northeast Corridor

Several media reports today stating the House introduced legislation look at selling the Northeast Corridor to private operators, and long distance going bye bye.  I am sure you will see more soon.

Karl where have you been I haven't seen a post from you in months!

Your subject title reminds me of a song by Madonna. The Bearded One has experience running tilting trains over busy rail lines. Has Rep Mica been talking to Two-Jags Prescott? Certainly US Transport policy is similar to that of the UK, there really isn't any.

Branson can run the Northeast Corridor just fine if all he has to do is operate trains. Will he pay for the track and roadbed maintenance and all the infrastructure ete? I think not. That will be the responsibilty of the US taxpayers just as it is now. Before any conversation on privatizing Amtrak begins, we need to know exactly who is paying for what. Branson has it made in the shade in the UK.
