I missed my early morning train, what do I do?

I missed my 7:30 train from Lafayette to Chicago, with the expectation of just picking up my return ticket from Union Station for the return trip that night (as I instead utilized a shuttle bus for Chicago).  When I went to pick up my return ticket at the QuikTrak kiosk, it said that I could not pick it up and that I'd have to go to a ticket agent.  She said that since I had missed my morning train that Amtrak had canceled my reservations.  However, she was able to get me on the return trip and printed me a refund receipt for the missed train in the morning.  Is there something I need to do to actually get the refund or will they just credit my credit card?

In the past, I've had refunds posted directly to the card

When  I was given a refund for the Business class fare when the Talgo was equipment was not operated the days I rode between Seattle and Vancouver, it was credited to my card whether I asked for the credit before the trip or after the trip.

Alrighty, it worked!

They credited my card.  I just didn't know it was going to take so long.
