Amtrak and the Philadelphia Skyline
Posted by Transr on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 1:49 PM

A few new spots have recently opened up in Philly due to new construction which allow fantastic views of the ever growing Philadelphia skyline - nearly unrecognizable from the late 80's.

An Amtrak HHP-8 accelerates out of Philly as seen form the Penn Park Pedestrian bridge.

An Amtrak Acela departs 30th Street Station as seen from the 7th floor of the Circa Center.

And here's one from the Winter - an Amtrak Acela and Philly skyline broadside view.  Currently the area is under construction for the future site of Penn Park.  As it sits now, it's a dirt lot.  It was a Post Office parking lot.  Figured Winter with snow cover would be the best bet until the grass fills in.

Hope you enjoyed!

It got leveled away but they will be back with vengeance... the former post office trailer lot and parking lot along with a small building also got mowed down and will be replaced by one very large park to be named Penn Park in the near future.
