A real good idea seeing that they will be using single wheel Talgo trains on the route.

I saw CP has started replacing jointed with cwr on the normal wb/east track beginning at Kenosha County Road ML, just north of the State Line, north past Sturtevant.  This may replace the last stretch of jointed rail between Chicago and Milwaukee this Summer, depending on how far work extends.

This is good news, even though I live in Texas I do ride these trains on my visits to Wisconsin.     Milwaukee will always be my favorite.     CP used a Milwaukee Road Engineer for some of it's Mountain Pass line engineering on it's Western Lines.    CP has always been impressed with Milwaukee Road ingenuity / standards and line engineering and I think thats one of the reasons they acquired the property.
