My question was prompted by the "Ask Trains" feature on page 58 in the August 2009 issue.
Until about late April or early May of this year, the sleepers on Amtrak trains 19 & 20 THE CRESCENT were placed near the head end in the following configuration: engines, baggage, 2 sleepers, diner, cafe/lounge, 4 coaches. Now the sleepers are at the trailing end of the train as follows: engines, baggage, 4 coaches, cafe/lounge, diner, sleepers.
Why did Amtrak change the placement of the sleepers?
