Spent some time up in Burlington as part of the TCA convention last summer.  It is a pretty town, and the Lake Champlain region is gorgeous.  Not sure though that there would be enough interest to run AMTRAK service from Rutland to Burlington, but if the Vermont Rlwy or New England Central could provide run-to service, the region would be better served.

The kicker is that Southwest was running fares of $49 to Burlington this past year...can AMTRAK compete with that?
