I received a email from a friend who caught #4 @ Flagstaff on Aug 9th, returning home to KS. I couldn't believe this delay. About 9:00 the train hit a tresspasser sitting on the trk @ Gallup. This caused a close to three hr delay at the scene, then the train was released and pulled into the station and waited for a relief xtra bd crew from ABQ as the guys on the train were in no condition to keep working. He stated #4 arrived home five hrs late the next day acct of what took place the day before.

On 8/10/08 after about 2:20 the Vermonter was so delayed between two stations (Springfield and something else)that there were shuttle buses between them. What could have possibly caused this? (feel free to post any other curious Amtrak delays)
