Empire Builder question
Posted by lattasnip9 on Monday, August 11, 2008 4:13 PM

How do they arrange the cuts of cars at spokane when the two seperate trains are coming from Portland and Seattle?  On both westbound and eastbound I was on a sleeping car just behind the crew car at the front of the train.  Was I in a Seattle sleeper or a Portland sleeper?

You were in the Seattle section. I rode the Empire Builder in the other direction a few years ago, the give away is the car number. The first two digits are the train number telling which section it is. 07 is the Seattle Section, and 27 is the Portland Section. The Lounge-Cafe and the cars behind it go th Portland and the front part of the train goes to Seattle.
