Anyone read this weeks Barrons Artical on Railroads?

The writer talked about Amtrak and a IPO for Amtrak would only be feasible if Amtrak would dump "Its many money losing routes"...... I guess he means long distance service.....We hashed this out again and again....But nobody talked about the Airline routes that airlines run say from Akron OH to Cincy or from Madison WI to Chicago and lose money or anyother oddball routes that airlines run that dont connect the 20 major city hubs in the US with each other but serve small citys with each other.
