Wow! I checked train status for 822 tonight (12-12-07) and it arrived at 9:13 pm, 26 min early.
Is that even allowed?
Ahh, Gainsville,
Aren't you the folks that built a new and delightful little station when the Flyer ventured onto the tracks? I think it is great what the Flyer has brought to the cities between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City. If only it would go north.... of OKC, hint, hint....
Thanks for the info. My wife and I are planning a trip to downtown FW soon (leaving from Gainesville), and we didn't want to be in a situation where the train was running two to three hours late. We plan to return the same day.
I have been tracking the performance of Amtrak's Texas trains since August 1, 2007. Numbers 821 and 822 - Heartland Flyer - have arrived at their end points - Fort Worth and Oklahoma City - by an average of 21 minutes late. As Amtrak's trains go, it can be said that for practical purposes the Heartland Flyer has been on time at its end points.
This week has been good for 822. It arrived in Oklahoma on time or ahead of schedule the last four nights.
Have a nice trip.
