well my plan is to get off the CA zephyr and check in at the hotel across the street from the station so we can ditch our bags then head back to the station to meet my Mom and catch the ski train, I just want to take the train up and back down a few hours later and have lunch up there or somthing
Im adopted and a few months after my 18th birthday 8 years ago I flew down to Denver and spent a week with my real mom and 2 brothers in Boulder, one day we went to Denver for a day to do some shopping and walk around we happened by the station as the Ski Train was coming in all covered in snow and I having known absolutely nothing about it at the time was like

You won't even need to leave the station; the Ski Train is parked one platform over from the Zephr. You should have plenty of time.
The BNSF does a pretty good job of operating the CZ ontime between Chicago and Denver and it is rarely more than fifteen minutes late. From Denver to the west coast it is a different story entirely the UP doesn't even look at the Amtrak timetable it sometimes arrives from Denver five and six hours late into Sacramento.
By the way the Ski train cars are former Canadian National cars that operated in Southwest Ontario and were named Tempo equipment.
