Heartland Flyer Consist
Posted by hf1001 on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 2:27 PM

Wow! I saw the Flyer in Pauls Valley ,Ok last night and the consist had changed from the night before. It used to have 1 P42DC, 2 hi levels, 2 superliner coach cafes, 1 NPCU. Right now and last night it had 2 P42DCs, 1 hi level, 3 superliner coach cafes, 1 NPCU. Does any one know why they might need 2 locomotives at one end and 1 NPCU at the other? The NPCU was leading that night because it was heading north. The consit had to change in Fort Worth, Texas because they don't have spare cars and locomotives anywhere else on the route from OKC to FTW.

I can't answer your question, but did want to thank you for the update. It is nice to hear that the hi levels are still being used on the Flyer. I had asked on a thread last month if they were still in revenue service an the Flyer, so you answered that for me.
