For those who don't know, Metra is the government agency running the Chicago area commuter train system. A couple years ago the head of the agency killed himself by stepping in front of one of his own trains. He was about to be fired for having his hand in the cookie jar.
Now this. Trains, politics and clout. While another head of Metra departs (alive for now) after getting a very lucrative severance package with a confidentiality clause so he'd keep his mouth shut.
It almost worked.

A nest of vipers.

But what about the Illinois Toll Road?
I was under the impression that the State of Illinois treated planes, trains, and automobiles with equanimity according to the consideration raised here -- the Retirement Home for Governors being located in Terra Haute, Indiana and all that.
If GM "killed the electric car", what am I doing standing next to an EV-1, a half a block from the WSOR tracks?
Madigan is another embarrassment to Illinoisans.
