Trinity Railway Express, with BNSF, sent 1 or 2 evac trains to Houston from Dallas for Hurricane Rita. They were used to move some ill and elderly up to DFW Metroplex.
ATK wasn't the only one stiffed re: evac during Katrina. I know of a company that sent over a fleet of intercity buses that they wouldn't let in, and LA state govt nixed Angel Flight sending in a veritable fleet of multi-engines and bizjets to evac MSY. Word on the street is they were afraid of where the bizjets might take the evacuees since the destinations hadn't been "approved"! (So they just let them die at the airport??)
