Onc again the A line PTC has failed due to "radio" issues. What that means is only speculation however wonder what that means for other PTC operations? From RTD notice. This was last Thursday.
University of Colorado A Line Neighbors,
We wanted to let you know why you’ve been hearing train horns along the University of Colorado A Line near the Dahlia area. The rail line’s Positive Train Control (PTC) is being affected due to radio issues in the Dahlia area. Some trains have to use the Automatic Train Control (ATC) in the area near Dahlia and Central Park.
The trains that are operating in ATC only will sound horns through crossings for safety reasons. An exact time of resolution is not available at this time. We recognize this is disruptive and we apologize for the interruptions caused by the intermittent use of horns.
Once the issue is resolved, the system will return to PTC and operators will use horns only when necessary for safety. Thank you for your patience!
