Because it's an extension or branch of an existing rail line.  One change of vehicles is enough  -- at 69tj Street  -- to reach downtown Philadeelphia.

Interesting that BRT, even with modern semiautonomous operation and hybrid power, isn't an option.

By releasing the "Final EIS", SEPTA is allowed to advance further in the study and plan process. So, we're not even close to turning earth. This is insane...As a friend of mine puts it, if the pioneers had this sort of process, even now, the Conestoga Wagons would be approaching the Susquehanna River, One job turns into lifetime employment - maybe thirty years or more from proposal to completion
