Thank you, Port Authority of New York & New Jersey volunteers!
Dedicated volunteers from the PANYNJ's largest annual community service initiative, Remembrance Through Renewal, recently helped give our vintage subway and elevated cars a much-needed scrub down! The day began with hoses, sponges and suds as we cleaned the platform of our decommissioned subway station home and the exteriors of our 22 pieces of historic rolling stock. Following a break for lunch and a tour of the Museum from our Educators, the volunteers then assisted with cleaning the interiors of the cars and tidying some of the other exhibits.
Come visit us in Downtown Brooklyn to explore our polished and shined train cars!
