So the entire Cotton Belt from Plano, TX through to Fort Worth, TX is going to be rebuilt for this transit line. The part from DFW to Fort Worth, TX is complete the part from Plano to DFW Airport will begin this year and so far is projected to be double tracked. Here is the link to the promo web page......

I heard or read on parts it is still used for frieght I know in Addison I have seen this specific line used to deliver aviation fuel to the Addison Airport. Most of the crossing signals are maintained still. My guess is service is via one of the local contract switching railroads for UPRR that are used locally in Dallas. UPRR tends not to switch it's light density lines. I think they use DGNO (Dallas, Garland and Northern) or some other contractor. Fort Worth and Western I believe also does contract switching for UPRR.
