BART Second tube
Posted by blue streak 1 on Friday, November 16, 2018 1:00 AM

BAFT announces preliminary planning for a second tube.  First look appears to be very far reaching.  Includinf lookig at possibility of making it both BARTguage and standard guage for Caltrain and Capitol Corridor.  Would give possible 24   hour service through one tube.

Shades of the Sacramento Northern service via the Bay Bridge!

I'm wondering what the plan is for supporting two guages - one track for standard and one for broad? Or a pair of dual gauge tracks? Making the BART connection on both sides would be a challenge as well.
