Are not almost all subway lines EMUs ?

Argentina's capital city is getting fiarly new subway trains. These are series 6000 EMUs from Madrid built in 1998,  that were used in 'large clearance' lines. Here's a complete article about it :

Curiously, for a subway these trains speed is quite high (110 km/hr, 68 Mph), but there's an explanation for it. The line where such cars were in service was a suburban extension requirinq a change and was operated more like a commuter line
